Our Purpose

Protecting a Living Cultural Legacy

Reggae is more than music. It is a cultural movement shaped by the creativity, struggles, spirituality, fashion, language and lived experiences of the Jamaican people.

The Reggae Arts & Culture Foundation Inc. works to preserve this history while creating new opportunities for education, research, exhibitions, public recognition and international cultural exchange. Through our museums, archives, research initiatives, honors programs and live cultural experiences, we are building a lasting platform through which reggae's pioneers, innovators and communities can be documented and celebrated for generations.

Why Reggae Must Be Preserved

Many of reggae's most important stories remain scattered across personal collections, independent archives, family memories, historic recordings, photographs, stage costumes, flyers, publications and oral histories.

Without intentional preservation, irreplaceable parts of this cultural history may disappear. The Foundation is working to document these materials, recognize cultural contributors and create accessible educational experiences that connect reggae's past with its future.
