Donation Policy

Last updated: July 26, 2026

This policy describes how the Reggae Arts & Culture Foundation Inc. handles monetary donations made through this Site or directly to the Foundation.

1. Tax Status of Donations

The Reggae Arts & Culture Foundation Inc. does not represent that donations made to the Foundation are tax-deductible unless and until the Foundation has received official tax-exempt determination from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (for example, under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code) and any applicable New York State determination. Donors should consult a qualified tax advisor regarding the deductibility of any contribution before relying on it for tax purposes.

2. How Donations Are Used

General donations support the Foundation's overall mission, including cultural preservation, research, exhibitions, educational programming, and public events. Donations made as a "Sponsorship" of a specific initiative — The Reggae Museum, The Reggae Institute, Reggae Honors, Roots Rock Style, or the Jamrock Awards — will be directed toward that initiative to the extent reasonably practicable.

3. No Goods or Services Exchanged

Unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of a specific offer, donations to the Foundation are not made in exchange for goods or services, and donors do not receive anything of material value in return for a standard donation.

4. Payment Processing

Online donation processing on this Site is not yet active. Once enabled, donations will be processed through a secure, reputable third-party payment provider, and this policy will be updated to reflect the provider's terms and any applicable processing fees.

5. Refunds

If you believe a donation was made in error — for example, a duplicate transaction or an incorrect amount — please contact us within thirty (30) days of the transaction. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis at the Foundation's discretion.

6. Donor Recognition and Privacy

Donors may request to remain anonymous or to be excluded from any public donor recognition. Otherwise, the Foundation may recognize donors and founding partners in connection with its programs, in a manner consistent with our Privacy Policy.

7. Contact

Questions about a donation or this policy can be sent to info@reggaeartsculture.org or through our Contact page.
